How can you make sure that you are the best leader that you can be? Greg Anderson, as a qualified Lead Like Jesus facilitator and trainer has the tools to transform you and your organization’s leadership.

There are four major keys to leading like Jesus – keys which are valid for anyone who wants to be a leader.

Outside Vision
First, look outside of yourself. True leadership involves being wrapped up in a vision of something bigger than yourself. Jesus was absorbed in His vision of bringing God and humankind closer together. Every major leader throughout history has been caught by a vision of something greater than themselves.

Build Culture
Second, build your culture carefully. Jim Collins in his book Good to Great says that an organization that wants to be great needs to have the “right people on the bus.” Jesus took three years to get the right people on the bus and to build a culture that would be able to fulfill his vision.

Empower the People
Third, let them have power. Once you have the vision, the people, and the culture, a true leader gives the power to the people on the bus. Jesus sent his followers out, while he was still alive, to all of the surrounding towns and villages to spread the word of the new world he envisioned. He didn’t go with them, he gave them the power to go alone.

Give Purpose
Fourth, give them the purpose. Once Jesus had established all of the previous items, he gave his followers the ultimate purpose – go, and make everyone a follower. Your organization needs an ultimate purpose too, but notice that Jesus did not implement his until all of the other tasks had been accomplished. Too many leaders spend too much time on giving the purpose before the time is right.
